Construction
Gatwick’s Construction team is helping to transform the airport for both our passengers and our people, scoping out and then developing projects that will unlock our potential for generations to come.
Construction adopts a “one team” approach in which we work closely with our airport partners to collaboratively deliver the best travel experience for our passengers. Our philosophy is simple: well-planned, quality projects delivered safely, on time and on budget.
Airfield
Airfield Operations manages all aircraft and other vehicle movements on the airfield. Our remit also includes runway lighting and control, and making sure that all health, safety and aviation requirements are met. The airport’s fire service is also part of the airfield team.
Commercial
Gatwick’s Commercial (retail) department analyses and manages the relationships with the airport’s vast number of stakeholders, from airlines to retail partners, car parks to train companies.
The team works constantly to improve the passenger experience across the airport, by developing new offers and maintaining high standards of customer care.
Engineering
Engineers protect, maintain and repair Gatwick’s infrastructure in line with UK and EU legislation. From the electricity that powers the airport, to the giant plant rooms, the team’s attention to detail ensures everyone who visits our airport has the safest, and best possible experience.
Passenger Operations
Passenger Operations is the heartbeat of the airport, the engine that keeps everything going.
From the everyday to the extreme, there’s a lot that happens in a terminal building. And it’s the job of the Passenger Operations team to keep everything moving – 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
IT
When it comes to IT, Gatwick is widely considered by industry leaders to be in the top five most cutting-edge airports in the world.
In 2018 we were named Most Innovative Airport in Europe by peers that included more than 92 airlines and airports. Other accolades include best use of mobile technology, best corporate app and most innovative use of digital technology.
Security
Security professionals who look after key passenger and supplier touch points at Gatwick.
We work closely with stakeholders – airlines, Border Force, the Civil Aviation authority (CAA) and the Department for Transport (DfT) – to maintain the safety and security of both staff and passengers.
